Take time now for health, or time later for illness!

In the last few years, I have noticed that many people, some of them friends and family, are physically ill. Two of my friends are both under 55, and quite ill in the physical sense. My female friend has had both knees and both hips replaced. I asked her husband why and he said because she worked too hard for too long when they were first married. She was going all the time with physical labor and did not get much rest. At the time, they also had 2 children to raise. Her husband told me that he has back and neck issues, and that 2 of his vertebra are compressed and make it difficult for him to function without pain. He also did a lot of physical labor when they were newly married, without much rest. He told me that if the doctor feels he cannot do anything to help him with his issues, he will have to go on medical leave for the rest of his working life. So that would mean early retirement, really early, as he is not yet 55. I would rather take time now to take care of my health, than take time later for illness. Wouldn't you?

It really saddens me that people don't take care of their whole body. I don't just mean the physical body, but the whole system; body, mind, spirit and soul. All of these components make up our temple body. We are energetic beings with a soul, here to live our chosen life purpose. It is of utmost importance that we take care of all facets of who we are in order to maintain optimum health.

For example, our physical body needs healthy, organic foods that make up a healthy way of eating. This consists of organic fruits and vegetables that need to be eaten raw as much as possible. Along with this, we need to incorporate ancient grains as they are very high in essential nutrients our bodies require for proper function, a variety of beans and legumes, brown rice and quinoa. It is a great idea to eat as many greens as possible, such as a variety of lettuces, spinach, kale, etc. I also recommend going without meat as much as possible as there are so many added hormones and antibiotics in meat that change our internal system and cause many health issues. We also need enough restful sleep, at least 8 hours a night. If for some reason you are unable to rest at night, it is time to ask yourself why not and to deal with whatever it is that is keeping you awake. Next, we need to exercise. Our bodies are made to move, and when we are sedentary, we inhibit our bodies from working at optimum level. The oxygen and blood flow diminish, the organs have a hard time doing their job because of lack of oxygen and blood flow, our lymph glands do not eliminate the toxins as they need to and we end up with illness and toxicity. The physical body also needs time to rest, relax and do nothing. It is important to schedule in this do-nothing time to ensure you take it. Whether it is reading a book, watching a movie you like or just sitting with a cup of tea, it is important to take this time for yourself. And, it is important to give yourself permission to do nothing! It is as vital to rest as it is to be doing something.

The mind is a tricky thing. It needs us to tell it who is boss. The ego tends to take over to keep us safe, and that keeps us small. It prevents us from thinking and dreaming big, and stepping outside of the normal box to do and be different. We need to remember that the heart and soul rule the mind, not the other way around. It is so important to take control of your thoughts, to be positive and say daily affirmations of what you want in your life. If you allow the monkey mind to tell you how to think, feel and act, it will create such havoc in your life that you will end up manifesting illness. Challenge your beliefs from the past and if they do not work for you now, then thank them for being there and ask them to leave. Then continue with the positive affirmations and you WILL create the life you desire.

The spirit is what gives us courage, drive and desire. The spirit creates more physical energy in our body to accomplish our tasks. It works in conjunction with the soul to help us accomplish our worldly tasks; not just our day to day have-to-do's, but to help us long term create the life we want to live. We are all here for a purpose and that purpose is our job to figure out. To nourish the soul and the spirit, it is important to meditate daily, allowing your mind to be silent while you connect, or "plug in" to your source energy. This quiet time allows your body to rest and your mind to receive downloads from the heavens. Yoga is a great gentle exercise for the body and it allows your muscles to stretch, receive oxygen and increased blood flow due of your deep breathing and continual movement. Some people prefer to use yoga as their meditation time, and that is perfectly fine. Whatever form of quiet meditation you do is okay, as long as you use the format that works for you and practice it every day.

It is also imperative that you deal with any issues from your past that are still bothering you now. You can usually tell if something has not been dealt with because it continues to be present in your experience. For example, if you continue to have relationships that do not work out, and it seems to be because of the same reason that they fail, that means you have some unresolved issue you need to deal with. This issue is within yourself and there is a lesson to learn. Once that lesson has been learned and you resolve the issue, you will start attracting good, healthy relationships and that issue will not come up again for you because it has been acknowledged, accepted and let go. This same example is true for every other past experience that you have not yet wanted to accept and process. If you continue to deny these issues a voice, you will continue to experience problems and unhappiness. The only way to get past them is to go through them; acknowledge them, accept them, learn the lesson they are there to teach you, thank them for being there and then ask them to leave your experience.

It is so very important to have a proper balance of all these body centers in order to have peace, serenity and joy from within on a constant basis. Taking care of all these facets in your day helps improve your physical body as well as your mind. It quiets the monkey mind, helps you maintain positive self talk, keeps you motivated to move toward your dreams and assists your physical body to stay at its peak operating levels. What could be better? Take a few minutes every day to center yourself and connect to the earth to keep you grounded, meditate and quiet your mind, allowing thoughts to move through you without action, and having gratitude for all the blessings you have in your life right now. With a conscious effort, you can stay healthy, be at peace and find true happiness within yourself.

If you do not start to take care of all of your body components while you are awake each day, and if you do not give them the time that they deserve for your health now, then you will be forced into taking time for illness later. That does not sound like a lot of fun to me, at all. As I would tell my customers that came into my vitamin and health food store, prevention is much easier than getting to the root of the cause. You deserve to feel healthy and be active, with peace and happiness, well into your 100's. Yes, it is possible as long as you take care of your body, mind, spirit and soul. We have all we need inside of us to do this. If you do not know how to get started, I can help you. Many people search a lifetime outside of themselves for the answers, but they are afraid of looking within themselves. The problem is, that is where the answers lie, within you! Dare to go where you haven't gone before and you will be surprised at the amazing person you find there, once you get past all the prior conditioning and should do's. You know better than anyone what you need and want in your life, and you will find it once you choose to get real and open with yourself. Do this now, your health is waiting!
