THE BOOK
Designed To Be Uniquely Me is a memoir of my very different life. It took me a year to write this book as I came to terms with closing my vitamin and health food store, starting a full-time job, going through a divorce after 16 years and moving out of my marital home. At the same time my son was dealing with internal issues of anxiety, depression and paranoia. It was hard at times to find the desire to write, but I knew I wanted to, and had to, share my story with the world.

When I first moved to this polygamist community, I spent time at the bishop's house. I took an immediate liking to the bishop's first wife. She was training to be a midwife and was so friendly and easy to talk to. We became instant friends. We had a lot in common and shared a few laughs. I will never forget what she said to me once we got to know each other well. She became serious and said to me "Tammy, you need to get away from here. Run far and fast and never look back. There is way more going on here then you know and it is not good to be here." I was stunned to say the least. I assmed that everyone was one big happy family, but apparently I was wrong.
